Competition Details:

 

Throughout 2012 Sierra Cortina will be running an Individuals golf competition using the STABLEFORD method of scoring. The Competition will be run on a monthly basis from January to December so there will be 12 Rounds in total.

 

The winner of the overall Competition will be decided by adding together a player’s points from their BEST 4 Rounds, regardless of how many Rounds they have actually played in. This will even out the Competition and will eliminate the advantage gained by players taking part in the most Rounds.

 

There will also be a separate special prize awarded for the player with the most points in total from ALL the rounds that they have played in, so the more Rounds that you play in the better your chance of winning this particular prize.

 

Once the 12 Rounds have been completed and all the best 4 Rounds of each player have been added up, the best 32 players will then go forward into a Match Play Competition that will take place during the first 3 months of 2012. The order of this Match Play Competition will be 1st v 32nd, 2nd v 31st,, 3rd v 30th and so on until all pairs are complete.

Entry Qualification:

To enter this Competition you must be federated to the RFEG and hold a current license and handicap. The results of this Competition are official and will be used by the Federation to alter your handicap accordingly.

 

Junior players under the age of 14 are allowed to enter the Competition but they are excluded from winning any of the main prizes. However, there will be a special junior prize awarded provided that there are at least 3 junior players participating in that particular round.

 

Categories:

There will be one category only in this Competition with no distinction between male or female players.

 

Entry Fees:

You can enter each individual round independently of the others and all entry fees are to be paid at the Pitch and Putt office on the Sierra Cortina Golf site itself ( telephone 966 11 20 93 ). The list of entrants will be open and available for viewing 2 weeks before the start of each round.

 

Members:     12 Euros          Visitors:     22 Euros          Juniors ( <14 years ):     12 Euros

 

Tee-Off Time:

All rounds will have a ‘shot-gun’ start commencing at 9.30am. Depending on the time of year the Tee-Off’s will either be from the artificial carpets or from the designated grassy areas.

 

Competition Rules:

The rules of the RFEG and the local rules of the Club will apply.

 

Prizes:

In each Round:

1st Place – 2 Green Fees 

At the end of the 12 Rounds, taking the BEST 4 scores of each player only:

1st Place – 1 year of Green Fees           2nd Place – 9 months of Green Fees     3rd Place – 6 months of Green Fees

At the end of the 12 Rounds, adding ALL the player’s scores together:

1st Place – 1 year of Green Fees

At the end of the 12 Rounds, the best 16 Match Play final:

Champion – 1 year of Green Fees          Runner-up – 6 months of Green Fees

 

The award of prizes will be made on Saturday the 18^th of December 2012, coinciding with the final Round of the Competition. All Green Fees awarded will be valid immediately for new players or will be added onto the existing entitlement of members who have paid for Green Fees already.

 

The Match Play Final will take place during the first 3 months of 2013 and all competitors are expected to be available to play during this specified period.

 

Competition Committee:

The Committee of this Competition ( The Committee of Competition of each Club ) has the right to assert as necessary any changes to the structure of the Competition if it is deemed to be of benefit to its running and completion as well as the handling of all claims in relation to it.
